This new gallery, located in Chelsea district of Manhattan, is derived from an image for the building as seen below. A building with 'petal' forms that float within the regular rhythm of the floor plates. Counter-intuitively, the floating petals are the structural elements of the building; acting as columns, walls, and arches.
The subtly curved petals allow for light to percolate through the gaps between the floors and wash the walls and artwork located below with light. At night, the building glows with the petal forms casting shadows onto the frosted glass facade.
